Terms of Use

Effective Date and Last Updated: June 11, 2026

Introduction

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Impostor Madness! mobile app and the impostorparty.com website (together, the "Service"). By downloading, installing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

These Terms work alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle data.

Who We Are

The Service is provided by Andreas Neofytou ("we", "us", "our"), the developer of Impostor Madness!. You can reach us at [email protected].

License to Use the App

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial entertainment. You agree not to copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent, or reverse-engineer the app, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law.

Local & Online Play

Impostor Madness! can be played in two ways: Local (LAN) games over your own Wi-Fi or hotspot, which run entirely between the players' devices; and Online games, which connect players over the internet through our cloud relay. Online play requires a working internet connection and our online relay service to be available. Local play does not depend on our servers.

In-App Purchases (Premium Hosting)

The app offers an optional, one-time "Premium Hosting" purchase that unlocks premium features, such as additional game modes and categories and the ability to host Online games beyond the free trial. All payments are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store; we never receive or handle your payment details.

Premium Hosting is a one-time unlock, not a subscription. It enables the relevant features for as long as the app and, for online features, our online service remain available (see Service Availability below). Prices, the contents of the purchase, and the free trial may change over time; any change applies going forward and does not affect a purchase you have already made. You can restore a previous purchase through the app stores.

Refunds

Because purchases are processed by the app stores, refunds are handled under their policies, not directly by us:

Nothing here limits any statutory refund or withdrawal rights you may have under the consumer laws of your country of residence.

Service Availability, Changes & Discontinuation

The Service is provided on an "as available" basis. We may add, change, suspend, limit, or discontinue any part of the app, the website, or the online relay, in whole or in part, at any time.

In particular, the Online multiplayer feature depends on servers (our cloud relay) and on the website staying online, which we are not obligated to operate indefinitely. If we ever discontinue the online service, Online hosting and play may stop working. Local (LAN) play does not rely on our servers and is expected to keep working on your own network independently of the online service.

Where we make material changes to a paid feature, we will try to give reasonable notice where practicable. If we permanently discontinue a paid feature, your rights (including any remedy or refund) are governed by the policies of the app store you purchased through and by applicable consumer law.

Acceptable Use

When using the Service, you agree not to:

We may limit or block access to the online service to protect players or the Service from abuse.

User Content (Names & Avatars)

You are responsible for the display name and avatar you choose. In an Online game, this content is relayed to the other players in your game so the game can function; it is not stored on our servers after the game ends (see the Privacy Policy). You grant us the limited permission needed to transmit your name and avatar to the other players for the purpose of running the game.

Intellectual Property

The app and website, including their design, text, graphics, logos, and the "Impostor Madness!" name, are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you a license to use the Service; they do not transfer any ownership to you.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that Online play will always be available. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any warranty or right that cannot be excluded or limited under the law of your country of residence, including mandatory consumer-protection rights in the EU/EEA.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data or profits, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Impostor Madness! is a party game intended for entertainment. This section does not limit liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for your non-excludable consumer rights.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and is not intended for them to use without the involvement of a parent or guardian. See the "Children's Privacy" section of our Privacy Policy.

Third-Party Services & Stores

Your use of the app is also subject to the terms of the store you downloaded it from (Apple App Store or Google Play) and to the terms of the services we rely on, such as Cloudflare (which carries Online game traffic). Those third parties' terms and privacy policies apply to their parts of the experience.

Governing Law & Consumer Rights

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the law of your country of residence. If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you keep the protections of your local law, including access to the alternative dispute resolution (ADR) bodies available in your country. You can find your national ADR and consumer-redress bodies through the European Commission's Consumer Redress website.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date above and post the new version on this page. Material changes may also be announced in the app or on the website. By continuing to use the Service after changes take effect, you agree to the updated Terms.
